The idea

Most people live, work and think in a language other than English.

Around the world, researchers and companies are building artificial intelligence for those languages. Sabiá in Brazil, BharatGen in India, KazLLM in Kazakhstan, SEA-LION in Singapore and InkubaLM in South Africa are a few of the models already built. Each one carries something of the culture and history of the people it is made for.

AI Beyond English brings this work together for two days. Researchers present and compare what they have built, and companies show how it is being used.

The first edition is in Macau, a meeting point between China and the Portuguese-speaking world for more than four centuries, where Chinese and Portuguese are both official languages.
